HOW CAN WE HELP WITH YOUR ELECTRICAL PANEL?

You don't need to know exactly what your electrical panel needs. Start with what brought you here.
UPGRADE: Your home needs more from its electrical system.

Your existing panel needs some attention.

NOT SURE WHICH ONE YOU NEED? That's Okay. You Don't Have to Diagnose Your Panel.

An older panel doesn't automatically need to be replaced.
A breaker that keeps tripping doesn't necessarily mean the panel is bad.
Running out of circuit space doesn't always mean you need a larger electrical service.
And a new electrical project doesn't automatically mean you need 200 amps.
The right solution starts with understanding the problem.
We'll look at what you have, what you're experiencing and what you're trying to accomplish before recommending what should happen next.

REPAIR. RESTORE. EXPAND. UPGRADE.
Not Every Panel Problem Needs the Same Solution.

✓ REPAIR - Fix what's wrong.
When the existing panel is otherwise serviceable, a specific breaker, connection, circuit or component may simply need to be corrected.
✓ RESTORE - Improve what's worth keeping.
Sometimes the panel itself is still serviceable, but years of modifications, abandoned wiring, improper connections or other issues need to be addressed.
Restoration focuses on improving the existing installation rather than automatically replacing it.
✓ EXPAND - When you need more space.
A subpanel extends electrical distribution from your existing system and can provide additional circuit spaces or conveniently serve another area of your property.
✓ UPGRADE - Prepare your home for what's next.
When the existing electrical system no longer provides the capacity, space or equipment the home needs, an upgrade may be the better long-term solution.

LOOKING AT THE BIGGER PICTURE

The goal is to understand what you have before deciding what you need.

LEARN & STAY INFORMED.

We believe informed homeowners make better decisions. Check out our helpful answers to common questions.

How much does it cost to upgrade an electrical panel?

The cost of an electrical panel upgrade can vary significantly because the project may involve much more than replacing the panel itself. Service size, existing equipment, meter and disconnect requirements, grounding, utility requirements, permits, accessibility and the condition of the existing electrical system can all affect the project.
That's why two homes that appear to need the same "panel upgrade" can have very different scopes and costs.

Do I really need to replace or upgrade my electrical panel?

Not necessarily. An older, crowded or problematic electrical panel doesn't automatically need to be replaced. Some problems can be repaired, some existing panels can be restored, and other situations make replacement or an upgrade the better long-term solution.
Age matters, but so do the panel's condition, available equipment, previous modifications, electrical capacity and what your home needs now and in the future.
A recommendation should be based on your electrical system—not simply on selling you a new panel.

Do I need a 200-amp electrical service?

Not every home needs 200-amp service. The appropriate service size depends on the electrical demands of your home and what you may be adding in the future.
EV chargers, electric heating, air conditioning, hot tubs, additions and other significant electrical loads can all affect that decision. Before recommending a larger service, we want to understand what your home actually requires.

Why are electrical panel upgrades so expensive?

What homeowners often call a "panel upgrade" can involve considerably more than replacing the breaker box.
Depending on the home, the project may also involve service conductors, meter equipment, an exterior disconnect, grounding and bonding, new breakers, utility coordination, permits and inspections.
You're not simply paying for a new panel. You're updating an important part of the electrical system responsible for safely supplying and distributing power throughout your home.
